Victorian Bulldog Alliance Europe

The Victorian Bulldog Alliance (UK), the Victorian Bulldog Alliance Europe are a single and same register partner of the Breed Health Council BHC (UK).

Acting as a register for the following breeds, not recognized by the FCI (to date):

Victorian Bulldog, (VB) English selection of alternative Bulldogs since 1985, the main breed of the VBA.

Old Tyme Bulldog, (Old Tyme) breeding program recognized to date back to the late 1980s, in England.

Old English Bulldog, (OEB) American selection that started in 1971 with David Leavitt and the now called Leavitt Bulldog. The OEB is, to date, present all over the planet and has followed the diverging views of its breeders and trend effects. The VBA and the VBA Europe are and will remain very strict with registered OEBs.

The Old Tyme and OEB are two types of alternative bulldogs that can be integrated into the VB selection, which is why the VBA recognizes them.

The aim of VBA Europe is:

To provide a framework for registered breed stakeholders, including breeders or individual owners. Standards, advice etc.

Promote registered breeds.

Inform its members about the evolution of practices and guidelines.

Encourage ethical breeding practices and promote breeders who voluntarily comply with them.

Issue registration certificates for each individual, as well as certificates documenting their genealogy (pedigree).

Contribute to the preservation and improvement of registered breeds.
